All nominations can be submitted on behalf of someone else or by the nominee themselves.

Maggie Williams Award - For outstanding services to Moving & Handling
This award aims to recognise an inspirational individual who has made a significant contribution to the sector and had a major impact on their organisation or colleagues. Someone who has worked over many years to better patient safety and shows a real passion for the industry. Judges will be looking at breadth of impact and value to the profession and/or patients.

Innovation Award - Excellence in Practice
This award recognises individuals or teams who have implemented new projects or processes that have resulted in a real difference to Patients, Service User, Clients or Staff Safety. You should demonstrate any costs of development and how you have measured any benefits gained. You must provide a clear rationale for your intervention and state how this links to current practice with appropriate references where relevant. Please state whether your initiative is a continuous improvement process, quality improvement, or risk reduction initiative. This category is for work completed over the last 18 months.

Above & Beyond Award – Celebrating those who have gone the extra mile
For this award the judges are looking for a special individual who has gone above and beyond what is expected of them in their day-to-day role. Someone who has shown determination, adaptability and a passion for the sector. Submissions must show results of positive outcomes from work completed in patient care or in the effectiveness of service provision.

The Merit Awards - Recognising the fantastic work of our regional groups.

The Merit Awards are designed to recognise the hard work of one member of an affiliated local group whose contribution has often gone unrecognised. Each affiliated NBE group can nominate one member.  The NBE Local Group Merit Awards certificate recognises an individual's commitment and innovative efforts within their local group, where they have worked tirelessly to promote best practice in the field of moving and handling. The award will be presented to the successful nominee from each of the local groups at the annual NBE conference dinner.
