Vicky Page-Chestney (Guest Speaker)
I started working for the NHS in 1986 as a physio and OT assistant. In 1987 I commenced my Nurse training at the Grimsby School of Nursing. After qualifying, I worked in many different nursing environments, starting with paediatrics and moving on to Nursing home care and management for the elderly and in particular those with dementia and Parkinson's and other neurological conditions. This was followed by a period of time working in care homes for young adults.

I moved onto work for a training company predominantly teaching and assessing health and social care skills. I then moved back into the NHS as the ward manager of a ward that took care of patients awaiting social care placements and support, working closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team.

21 years ago I moved on to work for the training department of the NHS Trust who supported me in gaining my Degree in Education. Finally I took on the role of Lead Safety Trainer for the Trust, with responsibility for Moving and Handling, conflict resolutions and challenging behaviours training, advice and support. Recently this has led me to gain skills in video filming and editing as we try to find alternative training methods

Like many of us I am currently gaining new strings to my bow as an Occupational Health Covid Advice Nurse and Vaccinator, alongside my usual responsibilities
