NBE Chat Live - Part 3 Guest Speakers

As part of NBE Chat Live - Part 3 on Thursday 29th October, we are delighted to be welcoming guest speakers Mary Muir and Mark Pinder, who will be presenting a session covering "Mobilisation of patients recovering from COVID-19"

Patients that have been admitted to the ICU due to serious COVID-19 complications require effective strategies for early mobilisation and rehabilitation as they recover. During the patient's recovery process, they can face a series of physical, psychological and cognitive health impairments, with effects on survival and physical functioning lasting potentially for years post-discharge. With the growing focus on driving rehabilitation in the patient care pathway, the purpose of rehabilitation is to restore in a holistic manner some or all of a person is physical, sensory, and mental capabilities that were lost due to injury, illness, or disease. Mary Muir and Mark Pinder offer an insight into best practice and the technologies, knowledge and skills that can assist, to ensure patient are mobilised early, often and at a safe and optimal level of functioning, helping to improve outcomes, quality of life and maximise efficiencies.
