As the Chairman of the NBE, I and the rest of the executive team have been closely monitoring updates on the development of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
As with all organisations, the health and safety of staff, members and our wider community is always our number one priority. This is particularly pertinent in the health and social care sectors that many of our members work in, as they are on the frontline of providing the support required.
Therefore, it is with regret that I am announcing the cancellation of this year's conference in September. This decision has been made to ensure that the NHS and care sector has the time, money and staff resources to facilitate the best recovery from this pandemic. Taking the decision at this time, enables us to minimise costs and disturbance to you, our members.
During this uncertainty, we would like to remind members of the support available from the NBE, including the members' forum, online resources, Column, publications, website blog and social media platforms.
The NBE have also released a statement on the current situation, which can be found here.
We hope you and your loved ones remain well during this difficult time for all of us.
Chairman, National Back Exchange
